Hannah Thiessen Howard is the author of Slow Knitting and Seasonal Slow Knitting, and the sitting President of the Greater Cumberland Fibershed. She also owns the craft-travel publication By Hand Serial and helps the Hudson Valley Textile Project produce Common Threads.
For nearly two decades she has been helping businesses and brands within the fiber industry build their identities, develop products and bring those products to market with engaging writing, stunning visuals and great marketing. Through her books, speaking engagements and writing, she hopes to empower crafters to select quality materials that help us support a more ethical and environmentally responsible fiber chain.
Hannah hosts a number of resources on her website including The Slow Knitting Yarn Directory, a curated listing of yarn companies, farms and dyers that support these same values. When she’s not busy highlighting others’ work, she designs patterns for knitters.
